Accepted the Presidentโs invitation to steer the E. coli O157 project with the mandate to achieve global commercialization within a tight $1M budget. Tactically nurtured government relations. Ensured sales and marketing strategies are maximized by analyzing market research. Kept up with the pace of reporting on, project managing and tracking One Health Safety projects. Ensured contractual obligations are administered and met.
Continuously generated awareness and coordinate with experts with the aim of gaining funding approval.
- Lobbied the federal government including the Prime Ministerโs Office to create a national cattle vaccination program against E. coli O157 using Bionicheโs product.
- Gave expert witness testimony at Standing Committees in Ottawa with as little as 36 hours notice.
- Repeatedly requested to sit on independent expert advisory panels (e.g. XL food recall). Gave testimony and recommendations in reports.
- Met with, networked and created a rapport with senior level government officials, academia, health services, decision makers, end users, specialized consultants, and key influencers.
-During tenure, applied for, acquired and administered $35M in funds for strong food safety operations, manufacturing capacity and public health research in Canada.

Mapped out contract specs for the legal departmentโs formalization. Attended licensee arbitrations when needed to assist the Food Safety Divisionโs E. coli Technology Committee.

- Extended geographic reach of product registrations to Asia, Latin America and Africa.
- Doubled sales from $600K to $1.2M.
- Sought and secured $10M in external funding.

Held the reins for Research and Development projects in the areas of food animal vaccines, reproduction and immunology. Tracked and located external funding (i.e. SR&ED, IRAP & TPC). Coordinated extensively with internal and external legal council and played a key role during due diligence proceedings for mergers/acquisition of businesses and technologies. Attended audits from Revenue Canada and independent third parties. Consistently conducted market research to uncover new business development opportunities.
- Captured $5M in external funding from well-crafted program applications for federal and provincial grants.
- Successfully acquired one business for $700K which brought in annual net revenues of $2.8M and a 50% gross margin after integration, and one global product for $400K which netted $1.3M annually with a 40 % gross margin currently.
- Paved the way for the Global Animal Health business to hit annual sales topping $30M with divisions in Europe, Canada, USA and Australia.
