Lingon Certificates
Special Project Manager/Board Advisor
Jun 2024 - Present
I am helping Lingon become the one-stop resource for compliance tracking/automated audits, source-tracing, chain-of-custody, B2B and B2C communication, direct marketing and far more via a simple, intuitive app. Lingon Certificates is a mission-focused company geared to make an enormous impact on the globe, though meaningful sustainability initiatives, accountability and the facilitation of open communication. I assist with strategy (I'm also an advisory board member), biz dev, grants, regulations, marketing and policy creation. In this capacity, and to better support regulation shaping and tracking, I sit on sever boards, including the Swedish Blockchain Alliance and Swedish Institute for Standards. This is one recent example of how I've turned an initial, limited-scope hire into a critical support role, bringing value far in excess of initial expectations. One of my testimonials, from Lingon, speaks to this.

Metex Labs
Chief Operations Officer/Head of Business Development
Oct 2022 - Feb 2025
Metex Labs is an AI and data company, secured on a blockchain foundation. Our goal is to be the planet’s largest decentralized and distributed GPU powered AI network, in terms of hashing power used to process data models. Robust hashing power has proven to be one of the leading indicators of success for AI data model training breakthroughs. We are shattering the constraints imposed by centralized computing by using community resources to grow our network, and thus our hashing power. This immense, distributed GPU network will be used to build and refine our own private data models, while incentivizing GPU providers through the development of a DAO and token. Our architecture allows us to easily integrate, expand or create data models for customers and white label solutions. As we are a versatile, distributed GPU network, our target customers become anyone who needs an AI solution for background workloads and processing - which, over the next few years of increasing AI dependency, becomes everyone. Our initial focus is on fashion, media, legal protections and improving our existing data models (which fuel future efforts and products). Initial customers include anyone who needs design services (several current clients are in fashion design), as well as graphic artists, app developers, small and large investors, the AI curious and anyone who needs specific media generated immediately. Sample COO responsibilities I filled within org: -Identified linkages between global partners and industries -Development and executive editing of whitepapers, lightpapers, decks, etc. -General strategy and strategic planning -Day-to-day operations and team synchronicity - internal role definition, refinement, recruitment and cross-communication -Business development (outreach/development/maintenance) -Overall mission adherence - removing roadblocks limiting product development/delivery -Process improvement metrics/quality control -Effectively communicated R&D goals to team members/investors

Public Sector CEO / CAO
Town Manager / County Division Head
Nov 2015 - Jul 2018
Town Manager: Managed a tourist town of 10,200 (winter population), ran eight departments with 117 employees, developed a ~$10,000,000 budget (~17M under management) and linked organization to external partners. Took a proactive and open door approach to leadership that saw quick solutions to problems that had languished for over a decade before my arrival. My major focuses were restarting failed external relationships (e.g. ending a 60 year "cold war" with the water district), promoting sustainable development (e.g. proactive outreach to all business owners in the town), and consolidating roles and services to cut costs and improve outcomes (e.g. closing down internal emergency call center to migrate to joint effort, while personally finding replacement positions for all displaced staff, at higher pay). County Director of Economic and Community Development: Recruited to rebuild/expand county development division: improving process flow, outreach, team morale, policy and customer service (e.g. sped up service response times by 60%). Rewrote zoning ordinance, economic development and comprehensive plans. Expanded rail trail, created jobs (5% uptick in new jobs in one year) and ushered in a media-described “economic renaissance” (e.g. locating, funding, negotiating with government, DEQ, DOT, etc., and setting up training programs for staff at Cape Charles Brewing Company, which was constructed at city's gateway, on a longtime urban blight site). Led multi-state, 3-county, 30 years economic/business planning process (CEDS). Upon leaving this position, I was immediately hired as Interim Dean of Workforce Development for Eastern Shore Community College, on a retainer basis. While there, I worked with marginalized populations, under-served, and struggling students to place them in careers, removing them from the need for public assistance, while providing hope for a better life. I developed training programs, worked with local businesses, governments and military (including Wallops Flight Center), bringing staff into local high schools to create a direct school-to-work pipeline, in a region with very little opportunity.
