CommonSpirit Health
System Director of Workforce Planning
Nov 2019 - Feb 2025
System Director, Workforce Planning | Influential Leadership, Talent Optimization, Predictive Modeling
CommonSpirit Health, 2019 – 2025
At CommonSpirit Health, I launched workforce planning initiatives across a healthcare system comprising over 150 hospitals and 150,000 employees. This role involves carefully forecasting talent needs, aligning operational and financial strategies, and ensuring continuous readiness during complex organizational transitions and crises.
When COVID-19 emerged, I quickly implemented scenario-based workforce models that accurately predicted staffing requirements and labor costs. These proactive measures kept critical healthcare services running smoothly, despite immense volatility and uncertainty. Additionally, I spearheaded the adoption of a comprehensive workforce analytics platform, giving our executives greatly improved visibility into staffing data, costs, and capability gaps.
One of my proudest moments came when I secured board-level approval for the organization’s first-ever integrated workforce strategy that aligned predictive talent planning with our long-term budget and operational goals. This foundational shift elevated workforce planning from a tactical HR function into a strategic imperative at the executive table.
